Amazon to hire 75000 more workers amidst coronavirus lockdown

Amazon.com inc to hire 75000 more workers of every department, from warehouse to delivery department as the orders increased amidst coronavirus lockdown. In the previous month Amazon filled 100000 new position.

The consumers have started storing products, keeping in mind the extending lockdown and long home quarantine which in turn is creating shortage of products and manpower. The E Commerce giant is making all its efforts to keep food and health products in stock, while also have employees who can deliver the products at home.

The E Commerce company is been receiving calls to shut the facilities as Coronavirus cases were reported among the warehouse employees, still the company is hiring more people. The company has said that it will carry out temperature checks and provide mask to all its warehouse staff in US and Europe.

The company faced immense criticism, when it was reported that there is positive Coronavirus cases in more than 50 Amazon warehouses across the world, but the company believes of serving the humanity it needs to carry it’s operations in this unprecedented times. The warehouse employees have also participated in strike to close off the facilities saying, “the company is risking their lives.”
