As India is on a nationwide lockdown, Air India has come up with an advisory that it will not resume domestic flights soon. The world has currently on a halt. Not only the virus is affecting lives of millions but also different industries. The impact of the virus is such that the market has fallen and the world is going through a global crisis.
The impact of the Coronavirus had a bad impact on the aviation industry. According to International Air Transport Association, airlines globally can loose a customer revenue of nearly $113 Billion. The people in the aviation Industries are loosing their job as the industry is closed and it is not able to generate revenue.
Air India came out and clarified the rumours that, the company is is no mood to resume the domestic flights as long as their is no official confirmation from the government. There were rumours that Air India will comeback into action as soon as the fourth phase of lockdown will be over.
On Saturday, the authorities of Air India issued an advisory stating to wear a mask, carry a hand sanitizer and registration on Aarogya Setu app is mandatory for people while traveling. This message was misinterpreted and misunderstood as people started assumed the flights will reopen.
While the domestic flights are on halt the charter and the evacuation flight of Air India are doing it’s operation. On Sunday Air India flight brought 160 Indian Citizen from Chicago, US to Hyderabad.
Under the second phase of Vande Bharat Mission, 149 Air India evacuation flights will operate to bring back stranded Indians. 13 flights will come from the US, 11 from the UAE, 10 from Canada, nine each from Saudi Arabia and the UK, eight each from Malaysia and Oman, seven each from Kazakhstan and Australia.
