1. BHAVESH JOSHI SUPERHERO (2018)

If you ask me which is the most unappreciated action film of Bollywood, I will blindly tell you one name Bhavesh Joshi Superhero. This 2018 Action Drama is a standard setting film for India. It showed the cruel reality of our system and at the same time also explored the grounded form of filmmaking in Bollywood.

The premise of the film might seems old school but the approach made it look totally modern. The film created a fictional superhero that Indian demands and deserves from many years. Made on a ₹21Cr, it only managed to gross a worldwide collection of ₹2.52Cr in theatres.

2. JAGGA JASOOS (2017)5 Bollywood flop films

It is undoubtedly the most beautiful looking Bollywood of the last decade for me. Jagga Jasoos is a mystery drama directed by Anurag Basu and marked one of the nest performance of Ranbir Kapoor’s career. The story of Jagga Jasoos is a mystery in it’s own. It drives us into such an amazing world, where anything can happen.

Made on a whopping budget of ₹131Cr, it just did a business of ₹86.85Cr in the global box office. The film has so much of exploring left to do. So, it will be very interesting to see if it gets a sequel.

3. MARD KO DARD NAHIN HOTA (2019)

The film follows the life Surya, a young boy who has a rare condition of Congenital Insensitivity to pain meaning he can not feel pain. It shows us how he learns martial arts and goes on to fights bad people to save one’s life. This film was screened at TIFF Canada in 2018 where audience appreciated the work done by the team.

But when it released in India in theatres, it turned out to be a box office bomb. Made with a budget of ₹17Cr, it collected a worldwide gross of ₹3.03Cr. The film has potential and if it gets a sequel people really gonna watch it because now they knew how worthy the film was.

4. BOMBAY VELVET (2015)

This film might be Anurag Kashyap’s worst film ever (as per critics) but it has potential. The era in which it was set, has so much to explore and show the current generation how’s the life in 70s India. Kashyap is one of the best director of India, he did failed first time when he was handed a big budget movie but he is really capable of making gold from waste.

When Bombay Velvet was released, it was the talk of the town. Made on a massive budget of ₹118Cr but it only gathered ₹43Cr in the global box office. Critical responses and public rejection made it one of the biggest disaster of Bollywood.

5. DETECTIVE BYOMKESH BAKSHY (2015)

One of the most underrated Bollywood detective drama of all time is Sushant Singh Rajput starrer Detective Byomkesh Bakshy which was released in April of 2015. The story has thrill, excitement and lots of discoveries which you can say is perfect to make a film enjoyable.

When it was released, people didn’t showed their interest in watching the films because there’s no buzz around it. The film was made on a budget of ₹35Cr, only collected ₹43.95Cr and was labelled as a flop. Now Sushant has a huge fan base, so if it gets a sequel it will definitely perform well.
